Unpack what you need, make a coffee in your kitchenette, and step out onto the balcony to take in the street below. You’re right on Agiou Titou Street, one of the city’s most central and charming spots.

Local tip: Need supplies? There’s a minimarket just around the corner and an ATM across the square.

Take a walk around the neighborhood
Start your stay with a causal loop through the nearby streets. No pressure to sightsee just yet, this is about getting your bearings. Grab an iced coffee or fresh juice at a local central café - there are plenty within a 5-minute walk. Head to Lions Square (Morosini Fountain), which is a central meeting point and a good reference spot. Explore 1866 Street, where you’ll find small shops, bakeries, and people-watching opportunities. This short walk helps you get a feel for the city without needing a map.

A taste of culture
You’re in one of Crete’s most historic cities, so why not start with a quick cultural stop?

You have two easy options, the first one is Heraklion Archaeological Museum, which has an amazing collection of ancient artifacts that you cannot miss, and only a 10-minute walk away. The other option is Koules Fortress, a walk down to the harbor brings you to this 16th-century Venetian fortress with great views of the sea. However, if you’d rather skip museums today, just walk along the Venetian Walls for a bit of fresh air and a wide view over the city.

A drink with a view
As the sun starts to lower, head for an aperitif at a rooftop bar or a coastal café. If you prefer something quieter you can also Grab a glass of wine from any nearby supermarket and then get cozy and laid-back on a street bench with a view of the port or go back to your suite. Crete evenings are slow and social, so there’s no need to rush. After that, sit in a local tavern or mezedopolio to have dinner like a local.

After dinner, the streets are still lively, Heraklion doesn’t go to sleep early. But once you’re back at the hotel, you’ll find peace and quiet. Maybe enjoy a nightcap on the balcony, upload a few photos, or just relax in the comfort of your suite. Your first 12 hours are complete, no rush, no stress
